Susanna Morash-Kent Scholarship Award

Vision

We are coming together as a community to honour someone whose impact has quietly shaped generations of architecture students: Susanna Morash-Kent. After 29 years of caring for students through every application, every challenge, and every triumph, we’re establishing the Good People, Good Practice Award in honour of Susanna Morash-Kent.

This award will recognize graduating Master of Architecture students who embody Susanna’s spirit of care – students who lift others up, strengthen our community, and lead with kindness.

Story

For nearly three decades, Susanna has been the first smile, the steady presence, and the heart of the School of Architecture.

Her kindness has always been quiet but powerful, creating ripples that shaped countless lives. Now, as Susanna prepares to celebrate her retirement, we have an opportunity to honour the compassion she has shown us by passing it forward.

As Susanna herself wrote in her poem The Ripple:

The Ripple Poem

Supporting this award means helping those ripples continue. It means celebrating the values Susanna embodied – care, community, and heart – and ensuring they remain at the centre of our School.

Strategy

We’re creating a dedicated fund that will support this new award annually. By rallying alumni, current students, faculty, and friends of the School of Architecture, we aim to build sustainable support so that Susanna’s legacy of compassion lives on in future graduating classes.

The campaign will spread the word through the School of Architecture network, social channels, alumni groups, and friends of the program – giving everyone touched by Susanna a chance to contribute.

Impact

Your contribution will directly support:

  • Annual financial awards to graduating Master of Architecture students who demonstrate exceptional community care.

  • Long-term sustainability of the award so Susanna’s legacy continues for future generations.

  • Recognition initiatives that spotlight the importance of empathy, compassion, and mutual support within architectural education.

By giving, you help cement the values that make our School special. You help shape future architects who lead not only with skill, but with heart – just like Susanna has done for 29 years.
