Story

“Cultiv8 has provided me with valuable hands-on experience in entrepreneurship. I now feel confident that I have the skills and training necessary to pursue my own venture or to help drive sustainable innovation in the industry.” John Raymond, BSc (Agr) Student, Dalhousie University

Dalhousie’s Faculty of Agriculture is committed to making a real difference in the health of the planet. SUSTAIN by Cultiv8 is a student-focused initiative to create a culture of food-secure, climate-responsible horticulture on campus. Harvests from the garden will supply a local food bank and on-campus food services, all while providing hands-on experience in sustainable vegetable production, research and value-added agriculture.

The project engages students in sustainable vegetable production, research and value-added agriculture while fostering entrepreneurship and innovation. After months of remote study, hands-on learning opportunities that bring together students, teachers, researchers, industry and the community are more important than ever.

Today’s students are our future leaders. We owe each of them every chance to develop the knowledge, skills and passions that motivate them — so that they become fierce advocates for a sustainable future. But we can only get there together. Help Agriculture students make the most of this formative time. Make a gift to SUSTAIN by Cultiv8 today!
